MineCraft, it was bound to happen …

So the inevitable finally got here, Dad got Alexander and Filip a purchased copy each of MineCraft, the awesome pixelated game from Mojan. What can you say … it’s addictive, fun, and creative! We’re building, blowing up, digging, and crafting. Very very cool!

Family Dentist Visit

So once again it was time for the yearly Family visit to the Dentist. No cavities, and everything else looked ok for everyone. So we celebrated with some Pizza at Kristineberg’s Pizzeria. Nice!

Erik Saade at Annexet (Globe Arena), Stockholm

Today Alexander, Filip, and Dad went to see Erik Saade at Annexet (Globe Arena) in Stockholm. It was an awesome evening with snacks, music, and a good show in general. We managed to find a table at the back where Filip could stand/sit most of the time. Alexander is so tall he can see the stage even with a lot of screaming girls in front of him; LOL

Silja Line cruise 2012-02-29 – 2012-03-02

From Wed – Fri, we went on yet another Silja Line 36-hour cruise to Helsinki. Needless to say, the usual traditions were upheld; that is, have at least four sessions in the jacuzzi, party our pants off on and off the ship, have a huge meal at Chico’s (the best place for burgers in Helsinki, possibly in all of Scandinavia), and to go wild and crazy for a full 36 hours. Everything went according to plan!

Filip Got Phone

Woo-Hoo … I’m finally truly mobile and connected! Having been confined to only to WiFi surfing on my pad previously, I have now “inherited” Alexander’s Samsung Galaxy Ace mobile phone. It does, of course, also feature WiFi access, but more importantly, I have a SIM card in it which allows me to do 3G data, regular calling and texting. I’m already getting the hang of things like WhatsApp, Android Market, and what not. I’m loving my cell phone already!

JA37 Viggen Flight Simulator

Almost exactly one year ago, Mom and Dad gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. The certificate entitled me to a full hour in a fighter jet simulator. We kept pushing the event booking ahead of us until Dad realized it would expire if we didn’t do something about it. So we booked the event for today, and now today has finally arrived.

I was very anxious and had no idea what to expect. Once we came to SweSim in Årsta, just outside of Stockholm, we walked into something that can be best described as a garage. There was gear everywhere, but it was obvious that this is where the action was. We were greeted by our host who was a very cool dude. He took his time explaining what to do, what to expect, etc. And after about 15 minutes of introduction, it was time to climb into the cockpit of, it turned out, a JA37 Viggen (look it up).

45 minutes later, I had a huge grin on my face that simply wouldn’t fall off! :-)

Ping Pong

Since I’m taking a break from my Football activities, I’ve decided to give Ping Pong or “Table Tennis” a shot. Every Saturday, a group of us get together and play Ping Pong for an hour and a half. So far, I’m loving it. Quite a few guys from my school are there to play too. Lovely!

Texas Longhorn

For my 12th birthday, the whole family went to Texas Longhorn on Kungsholmen to grab some serious burgers (and, of course, cake). We had onion rings, huge burgers, a lot of Fanta (though Mom and Dad had beers), and some yummy dessert. When we were done, we all went back to Mom’s place where Dad put my new smartphone (!) into working order. It was an awesome Friday and a nice family birthday party. On the 19th, it’s time for a second round when we hit the Go Kart circuit!

Happy 12th Birthday Alexander!

Today, 12 years and nine months ago, something awesome happened. Though I am reasonably well versed in the art of writing, it is way beyond my capabilities to put into words how much this event, and those that followed have changed my life. Nine months later, I experienced an event that can best be described as a frontal collision with a bus, although nowhere near as painful. I became your father.

Thank you Alexander for all the things you have showed me.
Thank you Alexander for all the things you have taught me.
Thank you Alexander for all the things you have given me.

Thank you Alexander.

Despite all my faults and errors of the past, and the flaws of present, and those mistakes I will make in the future, I will always love you, and I will always put my soul into helping you to the best of my abilities.

I love you dude, HoBo Alexander.SE!

Happy Birthday Alexander.

-DAD

Glorious week of winter!

On Monday and Tuesday, we focused hard on the homework assignments, and got them all done on time. On Wednesday, we went for Aikido with Dad (two sessions); and we had no homework left to do there, so while Alexander was busy with his Aikido session, Filip could just watch and chill.

On Thursday, the whole school went for a day out on the ice. We all went to Kärrtorp’s ice rink. Those that didn’t have skates played in the snow. We all brought food with us. We had Pasta Pesto, Risifrutti and some of Dad’s awesome hot chocolate with us. Needless to say, there wasn’t much left of the chocolate when we got back.

On Friday we did some serious relaxing; playing the PS3.

On Saturday, Filip was supposed to go and play Table Tennis. But it was cancelled at the last minute. So we decided to go look for some new skates for Alexander. Sweden had been hit by a serious cold (which is supposed to be the case since it’s winter). After about an hour, we had managed to obtain a pair of skates, had them sharpened, and off we went. Mom came to join us, and we spent hours on the ice. It was the first time in a long time for Alexander, but he enjoyed it as much as the rest of us. After that, Mom and Filip stayed at Dad’s apartment to watch a few movies, while Dad and Alexander went for Football practice. We rounded off the evening with excellent Pizza.

Today, Dad had to drop some stuff off for some friends (JonJoFreyaZelda), so we relaxed, built some LEGO, etc. while he was gone. When he got back, we went ice skating again (!), and Mom joined us today too! When we were done, we went to Kafé Russin, which is one of our favorite hang-out places.

Spaghetti and Meatballs were on the menu this evening, and tomorrow another week of school begins. Alexander’s birthday is coming up on Friday, which will be cool!

May the Pesto be with you, always!
